The numbers of burglaries that are hitting homes seem to be rising with every passing day. The latest report involves burglars breaking into three homes in Didcot. After the incident police appealed for any witnesses to come forward. It has been reported that two Torridge Drive homes were also broken into between 10 at night on Monday and 8:20 on Tuesday morning.
Both homes have had laptops stolen and from one home the car, which is a black BMW M3. A Washford Glen home was also burgled on the same night from where a handbag was stolen.
Emma Wright, PC, is advising anyone who may have any information or witnessed suspicious activity regarding the burglaries to contact her. She also said that opportunist thieves are the ones that carry out most burglaries. But by using inexpensive and simple precautions we can prevent these burglaries from taking place.
Along with ensuring that doors and windows are locked properly there are other things that can be done to safeguard belongings. Home safes are an important addition to all our homes in these unpredictable times as they can make a burglar’s job very difficult which will save homeowners’ money and valuables.
The good thing is that home safes are not expensive. This makes it easy for everyone to have them. Safes are a great way to protect jewellery, large amounts of money, and small items like keys that are not being used.
