On 22nd January, burglars broke in the house of Sharon Penhaligon, 45, while she was away for the day. After she returned home in the evening she was distraught to find that some of her very precious possessions were missing.
After overcoming the initial shock, she found that the burglars had gone through all her items and had stolen everything they thought would be of some value. In the incident Sharon lost sentimental items which included a five inch thick memorial plaque given by King George V to her great great grandparents during the First World War.
Sharon was deeply hurt due to the loss, as the plaque was a historical family possession and she wanted to pass it to her daughter to keep alive her family’s heritage. Apart from this the burglars also stole jewellery items that were given as gifts on her 18th, 21st and 40th birthdays.
With the growing rate of burglaries and increasing audacity of the culprits it is wise to protect your precious items in a safe. Safe sales have gone up considerably in the past few months as people have understood that there is no other easy way to secure your possessions than placing them in a safe.
