Cases of burglary rise drastically in Cambridge area

Reports are showing that cases of burglary have more than doubled in certain areas around Cambridge after the city council stopped counting burglary as a priority crime to be combated by the police. Thefts in Arbury and Chesterton areas rose to 160 in July-October this year from 76 in the same time period last year.

The residents of the area are of the view that as last year burglary was given priority status, there were more police patrolling and so the number of break-ins had decreased. But this year since burglary has not been considered as a nationwide priority the councillors have dropped it from their priority list, which has resulted in the doubling of numbers of break-ins.

Thus if you do not want to be a victim of such thefts, you should buy a safe instead of relying on the police and politicians. Safes are flying off the racks these days because of the toppling market and rising burglaries. Good tough safes not only keep your valuables and cash safe but also you can insure them against burglary.

It is, however, advisable that you purchase the right type of safe and use professional expertise to bolt the safe to your floor or even hide it for increased protection and security.
