Today almost everybody has a safe at home; the advantages to this are multiple. Safes help you to keep your documents and valuables safe from burglary and also from accidents such as fire or flood. Specially built safes also provide protection for climatic fluctuations for sophisticated documents, data and media files.
Safes to guard against robbery
Modern technological developments have decreased the cases of car robbery, but thefts at home are increasing considerably. Modern safes not only keep your valuables safe from burglars due to their toughness and sophisticated locking system but hiding a safe also prevent the burglars from detecting the whereabouts of your safe.
Types of safes
There are different types of safes available, such as free standing safes, hidden wall safes and floor safes, drop or deposit safes, fire safe, media safes and diversion safes. You should carefully choose the safe that meets all your requirements.
Importance of a good quality safe
It is better to buy a good quality safe from a reputed company, rather than picking up any cheap safe, since having an easily breakable weak safe is as bad as not having one. Moreover if you have a reasonably tough safe you can also insure its contents with little premium.
In this way not only will your valuables and documents be readily available at hand but also have double protection from any sort of mishap. Thus the benefits of owning a good and tough safe are many.
At present due to the current economic climate; people across the world are panicking and trying to hold on to what they have left. Thus the sale of safes are going up everywhere in the world. In UK alone the sale of safes has gone up by 30% says Bruce Fairchild who owns a safes company in Tuscan.
He adds that many people are coming to his store and asking for the best safes since they want to keep their cash safe. Gavin Douglas, a safe owner said that in such tough times it is very important to lock up all your valuables.
Fairchild, however, adds that it is essential for people to buy the right kind of safe. Many people mistakenly, purchase a fire safe which is usually not designed to protect against forced entry.
Fairchild advices people who are thinking of buying a safe to purchase a burglary safe with very thick steel plate, preferably one which is drill resistant. For added protection, people should buy a safe which has locking bolts both at the top and the bottom, and finally should be fixed in their homes by experts.
Basic locking cabinets fail to protect your valuable items against fire damage and theft. Safes play a vital role in providing superior level of protection for your valuables and other documents. If computer data is lost then it is difficult or impossible to duplicate it. To eliminate the possibility of document and data loss due to robbery; fire and climatic disruptions, business and home security systems need security safes.
The sheer presence of a home security safe is prevention to such robberies. Climate control management and theft prevention have rendered security safes a necessity for any business, office or home. Home safes not only provide security from robbery but also protect the stored items from fire. Home security safes offer protection to jewellery, personal documents and irreplaceable items.
Your business could be destroyed by fire but you can certainly save your important documents if you protect them within a security safe.
Using a basic locking cabinet does not give your valuable personal items a good enough level of protection. Valuables such as jewellery, documents and other personal items cannot be protected from theft and fire if you do not keep them in security and fire safes. Therefore, it becomes crucial to protect such valuables in a security safe rather than storing them in a normal locking safe.
If the information is lost it can highly affect your business and you can even suffer from a huge loss. With seven burglaries in one weekend the police are urging residents to keep their homes safe and secure. The Rossmere and Rift house in Hartlepool was the target of the burglars and the incident took place in the early hours of the weekend.
The police stated that of the seven burglaries that took place, five were a result of homes being left unlocked and could have been prevented if the residents were alert. The stolen items were cash, alcohol, laptops, cigarettes and keys that belonged to the home and the car.
Detective Inspector Lee Rukin clearly stated that if the property was left unlocked then it would only take a few seconds for the burglar to steal from the house. He also said that Christmas was around the corner and the residents should not make mistakes like this as being a victim of burglary during festive season could be even more devastating.
As Christmas is an invitation to burglars the Detective suggested that the residents should lock up their homes and be more alert and attentive. He also reassured the trust of the residents by saying that an operation would be carried out over Christmas that would involve extensive patrolling of the area. The authorities also urged the residents to use security safes to safeguard their belongings.
He concluded by saying that any help from the public would be grateful and those who are caught in this operation would be dealt with as is necessary.
A safe is an essential item for homes and apartments. Many people have the wrong impression that they do not need a safe because they think that things like jewellery, passports and credit cards can be kept in drawers. But what they forget is that drawers do not provide them with safety from theft and fire.
Every person has something of value which needs to be protected from thieves and fire. Documents like passports, birth certificates, pictures and tax information needs to be stored with utmost care and security.
There are different types of home safes to choose from. A wall safe can be installed easily in the wall without much of a problem. Users can hide wall safes behind paintings and other wall decorations. Wall safes are inconspicuous, compact and can be conveniently located.
Wall safes are digital and even a notorious safe cracker cannot just waltz in and get the safe to open. Such safes needs to be bolted securely in the wall, therefore it provides you maximum safety. Wall safes are narrow but not that deep. If you have to store a large number of goods then it is not the best choice.
There are floor safes that are large in size and can be bolted to the floor therefore they cannot be removed that easily by anyone. Some models of floor safes come with a digital lock.
There are freestanding safes that come in different sizes, ranging from very small units to large units.
Widespread social unrest leading to destruction of property and thefts are no longer only incidents happening in far off countries. The UK has seen a rise in its crime statistics and instances of homes being robbed or burgled are topping news headlines with alarming regularity.

Home safes from different brands are available in various sizes and models. Depending on the items that require protection, you can choose a suitable size. Fire resistant safes are available on the market and are suitable to provide initial protection for important documents and valuables in cases of fire.
Home safes are available with a key and/or electronic locking. All types of home safes can be bought online and most are available with free delivery to your doorstep. Always choose a home safe wisely.
These days, burglars are adopting new and innovative methods to steal your valuables. Although most standalone safes and wall safes offer the utmost protection to your valuables, there are still chances of theft. In most such cases, the robbery was successful because the robber was able to locate the safe easily.
Basically, there are three kinds of security safes available. They are wall safes, standalone safes and floor safes or under floor safes. Floor security safes have an added advantage since they are placed under the floor and are not easily noticeable. They are also ideal for your home or office purposes.
Floor safes, like all other safes are uniquely designed to provide security and protection to documents and all other valuables. As the name suggests, floor safes are placed below the floor and if installed properly can provide the best protection against theft.
Installing a floor safe may be slightly more expensive and more complicated than installation of a wall safe since a hole in the floor is needed. But once installed, it remains firmly to the ground and cannot be physically removed during a robbery.
It is crucial to buy a security safe manufactured by a reputable brand. Many cheaper versions of safes are available which may not be all that effective in protecting your valuables. All types of security safes can be easily bought and even securely paid for online.
Floor safes are available with both key and electronic locking. Select the right one for you depending on which items require protection.
Reports are showing that cases of burglary have more than doubled in certain areas around Cambridge after the city council stopped counting burglary as a priority crime to be combated by the police. Thefts in Arbury and Chesterton areas rose to 160 in July-October this year from 76 in the same time period last year.
The residents of the area are of the view that as last year burglary was given priority status, there were more police patrolling and so the number of break-ins had decreased. But this year since burglary has not been considered as a nationwide priority the councillors have dropped it from their priority list, which has resulted in the doubling of numbers of break-ins.
Thus if you do not want to be a victim of such thefts, you should buy a safe instead of relying on the police and politicians. Safes are flying off the racks these days because of the toppling market and rising burglaries. Good tough safes not only keep your valuables and cash safe but also you can insure them against burglary.
It is, however, advisable that you purchase the right type of safe and use professional expertise to bolt the safe to your floor or even hide it for increased protection and security.
The advantages of using safes are many. No wonder safes have been used by people for years. Keeping your valuables in a safe is the best way to protect your valuables while at the same time keeping them near to hand.
Unlike insurance and bank lockers, safes do not incur recurring costs of paying premiums. Buying a safe is a once in a lifetime investment and it can be used for generations. For this very reason, it is important to buy a good strong safe with a modern, sophisticated locking system from a reputable company, even if it initially appears a bit expensive.
Moreover, if you have expensive valuables and would like extra protection, then a good safe can give you a good deal in bagging lower insurance premiums. Apart from providing protection against burglary, safes also keep your valuables and documents secure against accidental fire.
The modern, sophisticated locking systems like electronic locks and combination locks provide extensive security making it virtually immune to break-ins. Moreover, the companies selling safes also provide special installation services regarding hidden safes.
When a safe is embedded in the wall or placed under the floor guarded by a special cabinet or couch, it becomes impossible to detect the location of the safe, increasing the security and protection for your valuables.
Thus the benefits of owning a safe can be equalled by nothing and so they are becoming increasingly popular with individuals as well as organisations.
