Sleaford seeing drop in drugs and violence but rise in burglaries

According to a report that has been put forth by the neighbourhood policing manager of Sleaford, drug and violent crime has reduced in the last year, but burglaries have increased. This was the address that PC Andy Jarvis provided to the Sleaford Town Council. Although the figures of drug and assault offences have dropped, those of criminal damage to buildings and vehicles have seen a considerable rise.

He said that in order to curb the violent behaviour that was usually witnessed on weekends and was initiated by late night drinking, extra manpower was often brought into Sleaford. He also said that CCTV would now be installed to help identify offenders.

The increase in burglaries in numerous areas has caused concern for residents and the police and ways are being devised to put an end to them. Police are cautioning people and asking them to take more measures to secure their homes and possessions. Apart from installing proper door and window locks, residents are also turning to safes to provide them with additional security.

It has been proven that installing safes in the home can protect money and valuables from being burgled and can provide people with peace of mind. The assurance of having an extra security feature in the home in the form of safes is reassuring to many.
